12th April 2019
In order to acknowledge and address the issue of climate change, MASH Project Foundation organised Varenyum, a session on climate change on 12th April 2019, held at CoworkIn, Lajpat Nagar, Delhi. Mr Manu Singh was invited as the chief speaker of the session.
He emphasized how our modern lifestyle choices have a catastrophic effect on climate and the entire ecosystem. Our life has become and is becoming more anthropocentric and less inclusive. In the introduction of the session, he calculated the age of the earth and compared it to a day's time, the existence of dinosaurs, the evolution of Homo Sapiens, the Industrial Revolution and the World War, all of which were summarized in a timeline of 24 hours. It was humbling and astonishing to understand the insignificance we hold in the abyss of the cosmic universe. In the very little time that we have come into existence, we have caused tremendous havoc and chaos, and we alone are responsible for the degradation of an entire planet.
It was an extensive session, we not only discussed the effects of climate change on humans but also vice-versa. The effects of animal husbandry, the trending shift from fuel-based vehicles to EVs, and the infamous environmental policies.
The participants were very well-informed, making the session interactive and intriguing.
Other partners who joined hands with us for the betterment of our planet were-
-PETA India
-White Cub
-The Prodigal Cook
-Elucidatorz
-Nutriva

Mr. Manu Singh, Founder of Panyaa, was invited by Prakritik and Dhyaan Society of Lady Shree Ram College, Delhi, to give a talk on “Environment and Spirituality: a closer look at mindful consumption.”
In the introduction of the talk, he began by explaining through scientific facts how our environment and spirituality are intertwined and the effects we have been facing by separating the two. He beautifully explained how the narrative of climate change is mostly about preserving the environment and mother Earth while it is the humans who are at a loss, the earth has existed long before us and will exist long after us, the environmental degradation is leading us towards a non-favorable habitat for ourselves.
Through examples from history, he tried to explain that only a mindful approach to living will help us get through this situation, and not only will we be able to help ourselves but also others if we choose to walk on the path of spirituality.
