A unique interfaith and vegetarian Iftar was organized by Sarva Dharma Samvaad at Birla Institute of Management and Technology, Greater Noida. The event, which was also co-hosted by Indialogue Foundation, was well attended by religious luminaries, VIPs and academicians. The function began with Vedic Mantras and culminated with Muslim prayers and a vegetarian Iftar and dinner. 

Speaking on occasion Mr Manu Singh,  the Chairperson of 'Sarva Dharma Samvaad', stressed on the centrality of love and compassion in all the major faiths of India. He reiterated that our culture is the culture of 'Vasudev Kutumbakam', where there is unity in all spiritual realms of existence, but where diversity and differences in the ritualistic and cultural realms are not only acknowledged but also celebrated. He stressed that only the 'Sanatan' (perennial) culture of India, which marries science with spiritual traditions, can counter the global predicament of extremism and terrorism,  and India should again take the role of being a 'Vishva Guru'. Addressing the media persons, he said that there is no intolerance in India and all such incidents are petty law and order issues that should be swiftly dealt with by the administration. However, he urged the government and media not to give undue importance and space to the extremist fringe in society. He said if unchecked, this would be the only threat to the progress of our great nation. 

Goswami Sushil, who is the President of Bhrigu Foundation, former director NCERT J S Rajput,  Mary Pat Fischer of the Govind Sadan, Aditya Ghildiyal- President of the Association of Greater Noida Industries, Harivansh Chaturvedi- Director BIMTECH, Father Bento Rodrigues- Chairperson of Father Angel institutions, expert of Middle East affairs and eminent writer Qamar Agha, Coordinator of URI in Asia- Ms Subhi Dhupar and Basit Jamal also expressed their views on interfaith and importance of Ramadan on occasion.

A Religious Peace and Harmony Seminar was organized by a South Korean-based organization, Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), on 11 November 2019 at 11 am hosted by City Montessori School (CMS), Lucknow, during the 20th International Conference of Chief Justices of the World. The Religious Leaders highlighted the teachings from their scriptures which talks about World Unity and World Peace.

The delegates also discussed methods through which these teachings of peace and compassion will appeal to their followers and will help reshape the interpretation of religion. The shift in the thought process of the mass population is a slow process, and it will take place through the guidance of their religious leaders. It is the responsibility of religious leaders to put forward the idea of peace and harmony to their followers and help it spread. Through these sessions, we discuss the methodology for the same. 

Religious scholars, theologists, philosophers, educationists and visionaries from various religions participated in the event.

Mr Manu Singh conducted an engrossing session on Dialogue as a spiritual process with the interns of Indialogue Foundation along with the secretary-general of the foundation, M Behzad Fatmi.

 

They also thoroughly discussed about a certificate course on Dialogue Studies that Mr Manu Singh had curated for the foundation. Dialogue as a means to conflict management and peace and harmony has started gaining prevalence over the past decade in India.

Mr Manu Singh has been actively working for Interfaith Harmony since 2010 and has incredibly spread the culture of Interfaith Harmony through dialogue.

Mr Manu Singh was invited as one of the delegates at the First Session of the 20th International Conference of Chief Justices at the World Unity Convention Centre, Montessori School Lucknow. 

He emphasized the importance of imparting spiritual principles to the legal world. He highlighted, by example from history, the importance of spirituality in our social system and its influence on people. Alongside in the picture is Dr Har Prasad Kain, former Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, they both were reminiscing the history of Spiritual India and the Vishwa Guru it once used to be, sharing their local stories and how that influenced them growing up. 

10th November 2019

Mr Manu Singh met and interacted with Selima Ahmed jee, Hon. Member of Parliament of Bangladesh and the founder and President of Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

 

Her gracefulness and simplicity are truly amazing. She spoke highly of all Indian cultures, and her knowledge of Indian history was surprisingly amazing. They had a long discussion on the true meaning of equality and fairness in society not only of genders but of religions too.
